Another Cinderella Story for the 2006 World Series?

10 January 2006 | C Whitmer

If the Chicago White Sox proved one thing during their impressive 2005 MLB campaign, it’s that an underdog team can still overcome the odds and win the World Series. A Cinderella team from the start, the White Sox consistently defied the predictions of their critics all season long.

And sports fans love to see their team stick it to the nay Sayers.

With the 2006 MLB season just around the corner, which team will be fitted for that glass slipper? With perennial favorites like the LA Angels, NY Yankees, Boston Red Sox, and Atlanta Braves, already being chosen by many prognosticators as 2006 post-season locks, which team could be this year’s underdog success story?

The Detroit Tigers?

The Seattle Mariners?

What about the Kansas City Royals?

Sure, these predictions may seem a bit humorous now, but how many loyal White Sox believers do you suppose were laughed at as they excitedly purchased tickets to Chicago’s home opener last spring?

Quite a few, I’m sure.

At the beginning of October, however, those same fans were holding World Series tickets in their hands, and enjoying a hearty last laugh.

It’s never too early to start rooting for your favorite baseball team, and at this point, all predictions are valid.

As all baseball fans know, the fun part is going to the games and taking part in the spectacle. Ditching work for a day game, staying out late after a night game, or settling in to enjoy a sun-drenched doubleheader, true fans know that the only way to enjoy the game is to be there live.

Just visit TicketSpecialists.com, a licensed online ticket broker and before you know it, you’ll be sitting front row with hot dog in hand, and your favorite beverage resting on the home team’s dugout, cheering on baseball’s next great underdog.
